RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Champion The Vivienne Passes Away at 32
James Lee Williams, known professionally as The Vivienne, has died at age 32. Publicist Simon Jones confirmed the news, describing Williams as "an incredibly loved, warm-hearted, and amazing person." The Welsh performer achieved prominence after winning the inaugural season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK in 2019. Following this success, Williams built a diverse career in entertainment, competing in Dancing On Ice 2023, where they placed third, and starring as the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz musical's UK and Ireland tour, later performing the role in London's West End at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. Williams' drag name was inspired by their appreciation for Vivienne Westwood's fashion.
