Gaza Under Fire as Israel Orders Mass Evacuations During Airstrikes

The Israeli military issued evacuation orders to residents in several Gaza areas after conducting airstrikes that Palestinian health officials report killed 404 people and wounded 562 others.

On Tuesday, the army directed immediate evacuations in Beit Hanoon, Khirbet Khuza’a, Abasan al-Kabira and Abasan al-Jadida neighborhoods.

“The IDF has launched a massive offensive against terrorist organizations. These designated areas are considered dangerous combat zones!” wrote Israeli army Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee on X, instructing civilians to seek shelter in western Gaza City or Khan Younis.

The orders followed Tuesday’s Israeli attacks that effectively ended a two-month ceasefire agreement that began January 19. Hamas stated that Netanyahu’s government had chosen to “overturn” the fragile truce.

The strikes disrupted the relative calm during Ramadan that had allowed some Palestinians to return to their homes under the ceasefire terms.

Al Jazeera correspondent Hani Mahmoud reported from Gaza City that Israel targeted residential buildings, schools and evacuation centers, which had become “death traps” for displaced Palestinians.

“Many Palestinians are still staying in evacuation centres because their homes are either destroyed or located in an area that the Israeli military is still occupying,” Mahmoud noted.

The UN humanitarian coordinator for Palestinian territories, Muhannad Hadi, called for immediate reinstatement of the ceasefire, stating: “Waves of airstrikes occurred across the Gaza Strip since the early hours of the morning… This is unconscionable.”

What Made This Delta Flight FLIP UPSIDE DOWN in Toronto?

A preliminary report by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada reveals that the Delta Air Lines flight that crashed at Toronto's Pearson International Airport on February 17 was descending at a high rate of speed before its disastrous landing. The flight from Minneapolis, operated by Endeavor Air, had 80 people aboard (76 passengers and 4 crew members). Twenty-one people sustained injuries, with two reported as serious. The report released Thursday did not identify a cause for the crash. According to the report's second-by-second breakdown, 3.6 seconds before touchdown, the plane's descent rate increased significantly. A second later, the enhanced ground proximity warning system triggered a "sink rate" alert. Just 1.6 seconds before touchdown, the aircraft was "slightly below the glide slope" - the system guiding controlled descent to the runway. When the right main landing gear contacted the runway, it […]

Trump Forces Amtrak CEO’s Sudden Exit as Musk Eyes Railway Privatization

Amtrak CEO Stephen Gardner resigned immediately after more than four years leading the national passenger railroad, following pressure from the White House administration. Sources indicate the decision came at President Trump's request. Gardner stated he was stepping down to "ensure that Amtrak continues to enjoy the full faith and confidence of this administration." Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy emphasized the need to address safety and security concerns at Washington's Union Station, particularly regarding homelessness and crime affecting commuter safety. Russian Bomber Base Hit by Ukrainian Drones, Massive Explosion Reported

Ukrainian forces struck a major Russian strategic bomber airfield Thursday with drones, causing a powerful explosion and fire approximately 700 km from the war's front lines, according to officials from both countries. Reuters-verified videos captured an enormous blast radiating from the airfield, damaging nearby cottages. Russia's defense ministry reported intercepting 132 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory. The Engels base, dating to Soviet times, houses Russia's Tupolev Tu-160 nuclear-capable strategic bombers, unofficially known as "White Swans." Saratov Governor Roman Busargin confirmed a Ukrainian drone attack on Engels that left an airfield burning and necessitated evacuating nearby residents, though he didn't specifically name the Engels base. Ukraine's defense ministry stated its forces had hit the airfield, triggering secondary ammunition detonations. Kyiv claimed Russia had used the base for strikes against Ukraine. Local officials reported ten people injured. Some residents discovered Ukrainian drone […]
