Ten Inmates Escape Prison Through Hole Behind Jail Toilet
Ten inmates escaped from a New Orleans jail early Friday morning by exploiting a hole behind a toilet, triggering a manhunt and raising questions about facility security and possible inside help. The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office reported that the escape began around 12:22 am when inmates tampered with a cell door. Surveillance footage captured them entering the compromised cell and slipping through a wall hole behind a toilet. The group then exited through a loading dock, used blankets to climb over a barbed-wire fence, and fled toward nearby railroad tracks and Interstate 10.
