Ten Dead After Missing Alaska Plane Found In Remote Wilderness
The United States Coast Guard has confirmed the discovery of a crashed small plane near Nome, Alaska, with all ten occupants deceased. The wreckage was located approximately 885 kilometers northwest of Anchorage on Friday. Coast Guard spokesperson Mike Salerno confirmed during a press conference that rescue personnel approaching the crash site were able to identify three bodies in the wreckage. "Unfortunately, it does not appear to be a survivable crash," Salerno stated. The aircraft, a privately operated Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, disappeared Thursday afternoon while traveling from Unalakleet to Nome with nine passengers and one pilot aboard.
