World number one Scottie Scheffler will miss the opening tournaments of the 2025 PGA Tour season following hand surgery. The injury occurred while preparing Christmas dinner when a broken glass caused a puncture wound to his right palm.
According to his manager Blake Smith, glass fragments remained in Scheffler’s palm, necessitating surgery. The 28-year-old American is expected to make a full recovery within three to four weeks. He will skip The Sentry and Sony Open in Hawaii but plans to return at The American Express Championship in California, scheduled for January 16-19.
Scheffler, recently named PGA Tour Player of the Year for the third straight season, enjoyed a remarkable year in which he claimed nine titles. His victories included his second Masters and Players Championship wins. His achievements also included an Olympic gold medal in Paris and winning the Tour Championship, which secured his first FedEx Cup.
During the season, Scheffler also made headlines when he was briefly detained before the second round of the US PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club, though all charges were subsequently dropped.

LinkedIn Sued Over Secret AI Data Training Scheme
A lawsuit filed in California federal court alleges that LinkedIn secretly used Premium users' private data to train artificial intelligence models without explicit consent. The lawsuit claims that in August, LinkedIn introduced a privacy setting automatically enrolling users in a program allowing third-party AI training using personal information. The platform reportedly changed its privacy policy a month later to acknowledge potential data disclosure for AI purposes. According to the filing, LinkedIn modified its FAQ section to suggest users could opt out of data sharing, but such actions would not reverse already completed AI training. The lawsuit characterizes these actions as an attempt to "cover its tracks" and minimize public scrutiny. The legal action seeks $1,000 per user for alleged violations of the Stored Communications Act, along with additional damages for breach of contract and unfair competition. LinkedIn has denied the […]

The stadium now hosts diverse events, including performances by Taylor Swift and an upcoming NFL game. Commercial revenues continue to dominate, accounting for 44 percent of total revenue among top clubs. Massive Wildfire Erupts Near Los Angeles Forcing Mass Evacuation
The Hughes fire ignited Wednesday morning near Castaic Lake, 45 miles northwest of Los Angeles, rapidly growing to over 10,000 acres. Strong winds and dry brush fueled the blaze, prompting mandatory evacuations for approximately 31,000 residents and warnings for an additional 23,000 people. Los Angeles County fire chief Anthony Marrone reported the fire was 14% contained, noting improved conditions compared to previous devastating fires. Unlike the recent Palisades and Eaton fires, which destroyed over 10,000 properties and killed 28 people, current lower wind speeds are helping firefighting efforts. The area remains under a red flag warning, indicating high fire risk due to strong winds and dry conditions. Climate scientists attribute the increased fire vulnerability to "whiplash" climate patterns creating extensive dry vegetation. Two additional smaller fires near San Diego have been mostly contained. The Lilac fire burned 85 acres, while […]

His resignation follows revelations by Fuji Television president Koichi Minato that the company was aware of the scandal for approximately six months before media reporting. Unstoppable Swiatek Crushes Dreams In Australian Open Rampage
Iga Swiatek has secured her place in the Australian Open semifinals with a commanding 6-1 6-2 victory over eighth seed Emma Navarro. She will face Madison Keys, who fought back to defeat Elina Svitolina 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a gripping contest. The quarterfinals showcased contrasting matches at Melbourne Park. Swiatek's performance reinforced her position as a title contender, while Keys demonstrated resilience to reach her first Australian Open semifinal in a decade. A minor controversy emerged during Swiatek's match when she retrieved a drop shot that appeared close to a double-bounce in the second set's fifth game, a crucial moment that impacted Navarro's momentum. Despite the one-sided scoreline, Swiatek, who maintained high energy throughout, acknowledged the match was "much tougher" than it appeared. She holds a 4-1 record against Keys but remains cautious, recalling her previous loss to the American […]

Mbappe Finally Breaks His Silence On Real Madrid Struggles
Kylian Mbappe has attributed his recent improvement at Real Madrid to a mental transformation, following initial struggles after his high-profile transfer from Paris Saint-Germain. The French forward, who experienced inconsistent form in his early months at Madrid, has recently rediscovered his peak performance. "You always have to be calm and focus on your game and what you can improve," Mbappe stated at a press conference before Madrid's Champions League match with RB Salzburg. After missing crucial penalties against Liverpool and Athletic Bilbao in late 2024, Mbappe acknowledged hitting "the bottom." However, he has since rebounded impressively, scoring eight goals in his last ten appearances across all competitions. "It was more of a mental thing... I knew I was good physically, good with the team, but I had to do more," Mbappe explained. "I didn't come to Madrid to play badly. […]

Rashford Breaks Silence On Manchester United Future After Month Long Exile
Marcus Rashford maintains hope of returning to Manchester United's first team despite his ongoing absence from the squad. The 27-year-old forward hasn't played since being taken off during United's Europa League win against Viktoria Plzen on December 12. Following that match, head coach Ruben Amorim questioned Rashford's training performances. Since then, Rashford's only inclusion in a matchday squad came as an unused substitute during the 3-0 home loss to Newcastle on December 30. After United's 3-1 defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday, Amorim's comment that "it's his choice" sparked speculation that Rashford had requested not to be considered for selection. However, club sources indicate this was a misinterpretation of Amorim's words, suggesting the former Sporting manager was simply stating that Rashford's future depends on his own actions. Sources close to Rashford emphasize that he remains committed to playing […]
