Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, a 21-year-old from Denmark, has made history by becoming the first Danish contestant to win the Miss Universe crown. Theilvig, a dancer, entrepreneur, and animal rights activist, triumphed over more than 120 contestants in the 73rd edition of the pageant held in Mexico City.
The competition showcased a diverse group of women, including Chidimma Adetshina, a law student representing Nigeria, who became the first runner-up. Maria Fernanda Beltran of Mexico, Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand, and Ileana Marquez of Venezuela rounded out the top five.
Marquez, a 28-year-old mother, also made history as the first mother to be crowned Miss Venezuela. This year’s pageant continued the trend of inclusivity, featuring contestants older than the previous age limit of 28, including Beatrice Njoya of Malta, the oldest finalist at 40.
Theilvig’s victory has sparked excitement on social media, with many fans drawing comparisons to her “Barbie-like” appearance due to her tall stature and blonde hair.
This year’s competition marked the fifth time Mexico has hosted the event. The Miss Universe pageant, once criticized for perpetuating traditional beauty standards, has been undergoing a transformation since its acquisition by JKN Global Group, led by Thai media mogul and transgender rights advocate Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip. The pageant’s evolution towards greater inclusivity continues to reshape its image and appeal on the global stage.

Shocking Dawn Attack: Former Jewish Leader’s House Targeted in Upscale Sydney Suburb
A property in Sydney's Dover Heights, formerly owned by Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-chief executive Alex Ryvchin, was vandalized early Friday, with two vehicles set ablaze and antisemitic graffiti spray-painted in red, according to authorities. 1000 Officers Scale Walls to Arrest South Korean President in Dawn Raid!
South Korea's sitting president Yoon Suk Yeol was arrested Wednesday after investigators scaled walls and cut through barbed wire at his residence, marking the first such arrest of a president in the nation's history. The arrest followed a failed attempt on January 3rd when investigators were blocked by presidential security. This time, approximately 1,000 officers arrived before dawn, equipped with ladders and bolt cutters to overcome barricades including buses at the entrance. Yoon, 64, faces insurrection charges related to a December 3rd martial law order. While he claimed the order protected against "anti-state" forces, it came amid his political struggles following the opposition's victory in last April's election. Before his arrest, Yoon released a three-minute video stating he would cooperate with investigators despite believing the warrant was illegal. His lawyers contest the Corruption Investigation Office's jurisdiction over insurrection charges and […]
